Hey, I’m Dan, Producer and owner of Gladeside Recordings, a recording studio based in Cambridge, UK.
My background is primarily as a singer-songwriter, though in past 6 years my focus has been on producing music with solo artists, and then helping them get their names out there.
I work with artists from the very beginning of the writing/production process, all the way through to releasing their music. Most of the artists I work with are solo artists and don’t have bands of their own, so my role usually involves helping to come up with an arrangement, then hiring and recording the session musicians that are right for the project.

The Story So Far
Gladeside Recordings started off after I produced an album for myself in my home studio. It was my third album, but the first I'd produced on my own. The album got some attention and landed me a record deal with 'One Little Indian' (Bjork's Label), as well as a deal with booking agent Strada. It also received a lot of national radio play on BBC Radio 2. All this led to friends asking me to help them produce their music, which quite quickly snowballed into a full time thing. It was something I'd always dreamt of doing, but the idea of starting a production business from my home studio just didn't seem plausible.
After things got going I started investing in my home studio more. I converted the conservatory into a control room, and a small garden room into a sound proofed recording booth. I produced literally hundreds of records using this limited space.
Fast forward to now, and I'm currently building a new recording space. We've moved house and there's plenty of space in the garden for a purpose built recording studio. It'll be large enough for a large control room, live room, and smaller isolation booth. This work is currently ongoing, so at this time this space is not available, but watch this space. It will be ready soon....
In the meantime I'm still working from home. This does limit the kinds of projects I can do, but please get in touch so we can discuss what you want to do.

Songwriting
I can help you finish your songs, or even write a song with you from scratch. We'll dig in to what 'you' want to say in your song and find a way to say it that feels natural, but also pulls the listener in and keeps their attention. I can suggest ways to create interest in your chord progressions that will keep the listeners attention, so every lyric gets heard.
Full Production
I can help with every aspect of the production, from helping you finish your songs, to pre-production and sourcing session musicians, all the way to receiving a fully mixed and mastered track. I always do this in collaboration with the artists I work with, ensuring that what they get at the end is something they can be proud to share.
Mixing
Even if you've recorded your song at home or another studio, I'm happy to help get it over the finish line with a professional sounding mix. I also offering in-house mastering, as well as the option of having your track mastered by a Grammy Award Winning mastering engineer.
